Developed in collaboration with BlackRock, these portfolios allow investors to access professionally managed strategies through a single blockchain-based token, rather than directly managing multiple assets themselves. This innovation aims to streamline access and transferability of diversified portfolios, using blockchain for both transparency and efficiency. The development illustrates how tokenization is now branching out from singular financial assets to the strategies themselves. Expansion of Tokenized Stock Solutions Ondo has advanced its tokenized stock line in partnership with Alpaca, a technology company focused on financial market infrastructure. With Alpaca’s Instant Tokenization Network, approved financial institutions can now convert existing traditional shares into tokenized versions—Ondo Stocks—without selling and rebuying through the network. This simplifies conversion and increases flexibility for qualified institutional investors. On September 21, Ondo announced this new pathway allows institutions to hold their shares in a blockchain-based form, bridging the divide between conventional shares and tokenized assets. This integration offers an efficient solution for institutions to shift from legacy holdings to tokenized shares, eliminating the need for liquidation prior to conversion. The expansion of Ondo Stocks also supports access through multiple networks, including the NEAR blockchain, which opens tokenized stocks to users via NEAR Intents and supports connectivity with over 30 blockchains.
